The differences between Phrase, Clause and Sentence


Phrase: *a group of words without a Subject and Predicate. 
e.g - look ahead, take care of, along with, because of
*Also stand together as a conceptual unit, typically forming component of a clause.
e.g - His favourite phrase is 'It's a pleasure'.
     - 'No money, no honey' is a common phrase among young people.


Clause: * a group of words with a Subject and Predicate, subordinate or modify to another clause *( Subordinate Clause/ Main Clause).
e.g - If you meet him on the way, give him the letter.
     - Unless you buy it, somebody else will.
     - In case something happens, get me on +9511603051.
     - Delegates were delighted, since better protection of rhino reserves will help protect other rare species.


Sentence:* a set of words that is complete in itself, typically containing a Subject and Predicate.
e.g - Life should be safeguarded by wisdom.
    - Do you believe in God?
    - She is very fond of cats.
    - Money rules the world.

Sentence








English ဝါက် တစ္ေၾကာင္းကို ျပဳလုပ္သူ Subject ႏွင့္ Predicate ဟူ၍ ႏွစ္ပိုင္းခြဲႏိုင္သည္။ ၄င္း Predicate ကို (ၾကိယာ) Verb ႏွင့္ Predicative ဟူထပ္မံ ၍ႏွစ္ပိုင္းခြဲႏိုင္သည္။ ၄င္း Predicative တြင္ (အျပဳလုပ္ခံ) Object, (ေနရာ)Place, (အခ်ိန္)Time တို႔ပါရွိသည္။
အထူးအေရးၾကီးသည္မွာ (ၾကိယာ)Verb ျဖစ္သည္။ ၄င္း verb ကို Object ပါေသာၾကိယာႏွင့္ Object မပါေသာၾကိယာဟူ၍ ႏွစ္မ်ိဳးခြဲႏိုင္သည္။ Dictionary အမ်ားစုတြင္ Vt,Vi ဟူ၍ေဖၚျပသည္။



Example:1
·         The king was died in 1997.
·         The king died in 1997.
Example: 2
·         I was slept here last night.
·         I slept here last night.
Die, Sleep, Appear, ..etc စေသာ Verb မ်ားသည္ Object မပါေသာ verb မ်ားျဖစ္သျဖင့္ ၄င္းတို႔ကို V(be) + V3 ပံုစံျဖင့္သံုး၍မရေပ။ ၄င္းတို႔တြင္ Active ပံုစံသာရွိျပီး Passive ပံုစံမရွိေပ။ သည္အခ်က္သည္အေျခခံက်ျပီေက်ာင္းသားအမ်ားစုမွားတတ္ေသာအမွားျဖစ္သည္။
